Controlling Tornado Converters.
By default, Tornado will attempt to launch the maximum number of converters permitted by your license key.
In practice you may want to specify the exact number converters that Tornado starts.
You can do this by setting the property: docmosis.tornado.converters.launch, in the Tornado console.
For example, if you have a T-800 license, this allows you to run 8 converters and by default Tornado will attempt to launch all 8 converters.
However, if you had two servers and a T-800 license, you may want to start Tornado with 4 converters on one server and another Tornado with 4 converters on the second server. This is the equivalent of running 2 x T-400 which is permitted by your license key.
To achieve this you would set the property to "4" using the Custom Settings under the Configuration Tab of the Tornado console like this:
docmosis.tornado.converters.launch=4 (See image above.)
With this property set, Tornado will only launch 4 converters at startup. Of course the property can be set to any number that is less than or equal to the maximum number of converters permitted by your license.
T-1000 to T-ENT installations.
By default, this property is set to "10". This means that if you have a license that permits more than 10 converters, you would need to explicitly set this property to run all of the converters.
For example, if you have a T-1600 license and wanted to run all 16 converters on one server - you would need to explicitly set the property to "16", eg:
We would usually recommend limiting the maximum number of converters per server to the number of available CPU cores on that server.
When running Tornado on multiple servers in this manner, you will need to manually ensure that you do not exceed the total number of converters permitted by your license key taking in to account all servers.
Trial License Key
The Tornado Free Trial license key is coded to run only one converter.
If you require a license key to test multiple converters, please contact support.
