How to get date renderer to work in footers

I am using a date renderer in a repeating footer (OpenOffice 3.2, Docmosis 2.2.0). I use the exact same code in the document but get two different results. Just to be sure I got this the same I copied and pasted the code into the footer. Here are the results:

data.myDate{renderer=date('MM/dd/yyyy_hh:mm')}

Result in the body: "06/15/2010 04:38"
Result footer the: "2010-06-15 16:38:00.0"

Is there some special way to deal with footers? Am I doing something wrong? Seems strange.
