Hello,
For a document with 220 pages (one page per employee with about 30 fields), it takes 25 seconds to generate the report, which seems pretty slow for a pc with the following specifications: Windows Vista, 4GB RAM, 2.5Ghz, Quad CPU.
The output format I use is PDF, and the template is ODT. Each of the 220 pages of the report has a small static image (the company logo), but I've already tried to remove the image to see if it goes any faster, and I win 2 seconds without the images, so that's not a reasonable difference.
Luckily, these documents won't be generated every day, so it's not such a big deal, but I was just wondering if this was a normal time for a document like this.
Thanks in advance!
Hello HoSpiTaL_gHoSt.
Generating a 220 page document in 25 seconds - that is about what we expect given your machine specification.
Docmosis (Professional version) allows parallel rendering, so whilst such documents will still take
25 seconds, you can render an unlimited number at a time (ie n documents in 25 seconds). This will
also make use of multiple cores (or even multiple computers) which doesn't come into play with
single document production.
You may also wish to check whether your virus scanner (disable it is the quickest way to test) is having
any impact. We have seen cases where anti-virus software add 50% to the duration of document production.
