Integration
Web Standards
Integration of your application with Docmosis is made easy because we use standard web APIs. Docmosis is powered by Amazon Web Services. Access Docmosis as a service using SOAP and RESTful web services invocation with XML or JSON data.
You can use Docmosis from any web service capable environment including Java, Ruby, .Net, C, C#, Objective-C, iOS devices and many more.
Store and retrieve your document reports securely via streaming (to browser), Amazon S3 storage, email and more.
The use of well known web standards means your integration will be easy, quick, cheap, and require no training. And because Docmosis uses trusted service providers, like Amazon, we can give you the power, reliability and flexibility that are features of their services. Confidence, assurance, peace of mind.
Simple API
Docmosis has a simple API which allows you to control how your documents are produced.
Template Management - upload, download and delete the templates you wish to use for document report generation
Document Rendering - specify which template to use, output formats, destinations (including Amazon S3 storage)
Docmosis can be invoked with very little code. It amounts to three simple steps:
- Connect to the Docmosis service
- Generate documents by specifying a document report template and the enclosed data (JSON, XML)
- Receive the result, which may be as simple as checking your email inbox
You do not need a gun developer to use this and, of course, the system is fully documented and our customer support team are always there to help you with integration in the unlikely event that you need it. But you won't, it's simple.
Easy Data Hooks
Docmosis makes use of the Microsoft Word and OpenOffice document fields to provide the hooks in the document template for the data. No plugins, no hassle. Mapping the data to the fields in the document template creates a report once the Docmosis server performs the rendering operation. This is what allows the separation of content and presentation.
The document author and the developer simply agree on the field/data mapping and then the document author focuses on layout, formatting and style; the developer focuses on getting the data and calling the Docmosis service from their application.
There are many control features that you can use to create document reports from simple form letters to a complex business report; text insertion, headers and footers, tables (including nested tables), dynamic content, links, repeating content, conditional rendering, expansion of lists, and many other features.
You can get your data from anywhere; databases, files, Java Objects, etc. With Docmosis, you can now insert your data sets into custom document reports exactly the way you want them.
